Michigan Region 8 Tournament

Michigan Science Olympiad is divided into 15 regions. We are Michigan Region 8 and serve the Wayne and Monroe Counties.

The top teams from our regional tournament will progress to the Michigan Science Olympiad state tournament held at Michigan State University. Winners from the state tournament will progress to the national tournament. The host of the national tournament moves on an annual basis.

 

The tournament date is tentatively set for Saturday, March 31, 2012.

How to Participate in Science Olympiad?

Competing in Science Olympiad

To participate in Science Olympiad a coach will need to register with Michigan Science Olympiad.

This is required so that you can officially participate in the Science Olympiad. Your team membership in MSO will also provide you with your rule books and allow teams to participate in tournaments and other events. Click on the link. You will also need to register with us.

Registering with the Wayne-Monroe Science Olympiad allows a team to compete in the regional tournament held here at the University of Michigan Dearborn. You will not receive a team number until you also register with Michigan Science Olympiad. To register download the following form in Word format. Please fill out the form electronically using Microsoft Word (hand-written forms are often difficult to read) and send the form and payment to the address listed. Aside from the website, email will be the primary mode of communications you will receive from us so make sure that you provide an accurate email address.

Deadline

Registrations will be taken until December 31. The number of invitations to the state tournament are dependent on the number of teams that are registered by the end of the year. To increase your chances of going to the state tournament please register early. Late registration will be accepted until January 31. Applications and fee including the late fee MUST BE RECEIVED (NOT POSTMARKED) by January 31. NO EXCEPTION!
