Anatomy Official Jim Miloser Teams will be tested on their knowledge of anatomy and health concepts.
Bio-Process Lab Official Danielle Hall,
Sarah Plecha
Teams will demonstrate biology laboratory skills related to selected topics.
Compute This Official Kathryn Meloche Teams will be presented with a problem which requires quantitative data capture from the Internet and the presentation of data in a graphical format.
Crave the Wave Official Katherine Gee Students will demonstrate their understanding of waves and wave motion.
Disease Detectives Official Dr. Daniel Clemans This event requires students to apply principles of epidemiology to a published report of a real-life health situation or problem.
Dynamic Planet Official Joyce Bock Teams will work at stations that display a variety of earth science materials and related earth science questions. (earthquakes/volcanoes)
Ecology Official Joyce Bock Students will answer questions involving content knowledge and process skills in the area of ecology and adaptation by examining different ecosystems.
Elevated Bridge Official Crystal VanMeveren Teams will design, build&test the lightest bridge to carry a maximum load.
Environmental Chemistry Official Marty Buehler Teams will be asked questions pertaining to environmental chemistry, which may include chemical reactions, characterization, and quantification
Experimental Design Official Marty Buehler Given a set of unknown objects, teams will design, conduct, analyze and write-up an experiment.
Fossils Official Evelyn Jackson Students will identify, describe, and classify various specimens.
Meteorology Official Mary Rotherma This event involves the use of process skills as applied to meteorology.
Pentathlon Official Alisha John Teams will compete in an academic pentathlon to demonstrate their overall understanding of five major science content areas.
Physical Science Lab Official George Ruck Teams will demonstrate physics laboratory skills related to selected topics.
Reach for the Stars Official Joyce Bock Teams will identify stars, constellations, and deep sky objects and be knowledgeable about their evolutionary stages.

Requires the accurate interpretation and understanding of various map features using a variety of road and topographic maps.
Robo-Cross Official John Vala Students will design and build a robot capable of performing certain tasks.
Science Crime Busters Official Victoria Sturt Teams will identify the perpetrators of a crime or crimes by using paper chromatography and analysis of unknown solids, liquids, and plastics found at the scene of a crime.
Scrambler Official Lauren Johnson Teams will design and build a mechanical device which uses the energy from a falling mass to transport a Grade A uncooked chicken egg along a straight track
Trajectory Official James Carlu Teams will design, construct, calibrate and operate a device capable of launching a projectile into a target using energy provided by nonmetallic elastic solids.
Wright Stuff Official Jeff Anderson Teams will design and build a propeller propelled aerodynamic device for greatest time aloft.
Write It/Do It Official Liela Yacoobi A technical writing exercise where students write a description of a contraption and other students will attempt to recreate it using only the written description.
America - Land of Parks Trial Crystal Peeples Because one of the major agencies contributing to environmental awareness and research is the United States National Parks System, this event is designed to focus on and promote this by selecting certain parks and using them as a source of information for this event.
Bag of Bones Trial Linda Kavanaugh,
Wally Kavanaugh
Students will identify bones from the supplied list and answer questions pertaining to these bones.
Endangered, Extinct, Exotic Trial Eleanor Sheposh Students will be asked questions about endangered, and extinct vertebrates (Refer to Texas Taxa List for examples in Texas), including probable reasons for their status on the list. Some of these vertebrates on the may also appear on the National List of Endangered Species. Students will also be asked questions about exotic (non-native) vertebrates (refer to State Taxa List), including their probable mode of introduction and their impact on biodiversity.
Get Your Bearing Trial Nicholas Thorne This event combines physical exercise, mental aptitude and the ability to use a standard compass (no electronic devices) to locate control markers placed in unfamiliar terrain.
Microbe Mission Trial Racha El-Ladki,

Students will answer questions, solve problems, and analyze data pertaining to viruses and single celled organisms.
Out and Back Trial Kaitlyn Mallett Teams will design, build and test a vehicle that uses one or two single-spring mousetraps as their sole source of energy for propulsion. The vehicle will be designed to travel 7.0 meters in a straight line and then reverse its direction and return to a target at the starting line.

It's About Time Official Curt Gomulinski Using a pre-constructed non-electronic device, students will measure time in intervals.
Junkyard Challenge Official Christopher Burtka Students will partially pre-construct an device with final construction and adaptation onsite to complete a published challenge.

Picture This Official Jessica Turner Draw representations of a set of scientific terms or concepts and guess the term being drawn.
Remote Sensing Official Mark Van Hecke Teams use maps and remote sensing technology to explain human impact on the Earth.
