Why attend?

The purpose of the Coaches Clinic is to introduce the new events for the 2010 Science Olympiad and to help coaches develop a better understanding of all the events along with strategies for their classroom implementation. National Event Supervisors or exemplars in the field will conduct the clinic workshops.

All attendees will receive SB-CEUs and (optionally) 1 (one) University Graduate Credit

We are very pleased to announce that all attendees will receive 0.5 SB-CEUs for attending the Coaches Clinic of America. The SB-CEUs will be registered with the Michigan Department of Education (see listing) and is sponsored by the Washtenaw ISD in partnership with the University of Michigan Dearborn. Attendees will need to meet the contact hours and filing requirements. Attendees will need to attend at least 6 of the sessions in order to receive credit. You will receive the paperwork that needs to be filed when you register on the day of the clinic which includes a session attendance form and a session evaluation form. You must complete both forms (with signatures of the presenters for each session attended) in their entirety in order to receive credit - no exceptions.

Attendees can optionally receive 1 (one) University of Michigan Dearborn Graduate Credit for attending the clinic and submitting additional coursework afterwards. We are still working on the details and should have updates within a few days. As a prerequisite, you must complete the SB-CEU filing requirement.

Why come to Dearborn?

Most importantly, our clinic will be conducted by the National Event Supervisors. We have already received commitments from many of the national event supervisors to attend this event. The City of Dearborn has a rich heritage and is a world famous industrial center. At the same time, it is one of America's leading tourist attractions, a college town, and is a residential community that wins accolades for cleanliness and public services. The University of Michigan Dearborn campus and Hyatt Regency Dearborn are located across the street from each other and are situated 10 miles east of Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW).
